Passes rápidos e triangulações – bem no estilo Luís Castro, futuro técnico do Glorioso – apareceram.

Celtic moved five points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Ross County at Parkhead on Saturday.
Aberdeen conceded a 96th-minute equaliser, having taken the lead in the 95th minute, against Hibernian in their match to draw 3-3, which opened the door for the Hoops to extend their lead.
The Scottish giants took full advantage of their rivals slipping up and now have a comfortable lead at the top of the division, after they swept Ross County aside with ease.
Brendan Rodgers decided to make a host of changes to his starting XI after Wednesday night’s 1-1 draw with Club Brugge in the Champions League, to keep his squad fresh and hand opportunities to other players.
Liam Scales, Paulo Bernardo, Alex Valle, Luke McCowan, James Forrest, and Adam Idah all came in from the start to showcase what they can offer to the team as starters.
McCowan was the star of the show, with one goal, three assists, and eight key passes, but fellow central midfielder Bernardo also took his chance to impress.
Paulo Bernardo's performance against Ross County
The Portugal U21 international was selected over both Arne Engels and Reo Hatate to start in the middle of the park alongside Callum McGregor and McCowan.
It was an opportunity for him to show the manager that he deserves more minutes on the pitch moving forward, and the former Benfica starlet certainly presented his case well.
Bernardo scored the third goal of the game in the first half by reacting well to the ball dropping for him from Daizen Maeda’s deflected cut-back, firing into the far corner with a composed finish.

As you can see in the table above, the Portuguese dynamo also created four chances and one ‘big chance’ for his teammates throughout his 90 minutes on the pitch, but was not rewarded with an assist for his efforts.
The 22-year-old whiz, who earned a Sofascore rating of 8.2, was also strong out of possession with four duels won out of six, which shows that he was a solid performer for the Scottish giants with his work on and off the ball.
There was another player who came in from the cold to outperform Bernardo against Ross County on Saturday, though, and that man was central defender Liam Scales.
Liam Scales' performance against Ross County
The Ireland international was an unused substitute against Club Brugge in midweek and for the 4-1 win over Hearts in the Premiership last weekend, as Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty were selected as the preferred centre-back pairing.
Rodgers brought the left-footed titan back in from the start in this latest top-flight clash and Scales grasped his opportunity with both hands, putting in a fantastic performance at the heart of the defence.
The former Aberdeen loanee opened the scoring with a brilliant glancing header off the crossbar and in from McCowan’s corner, before turning provider with a great clipped pass over the top of the defence to assist the Scottish midfielder for the second goal.
Scales, who earned a staggering 9.3 rating on Sofascore, made a huge impact at the top end of the pitch to open the game up for Celtic, by directly contributing to the first two goals, and that allowed the Hoops to go on and win the match with ease.

As you can see in the table above, the Irish colossus enjoyed a terrific game in possession, with a whopping 164 touches and 145 passes completed.
To go along with his goal and assist, Scales completed 94% of his passes and was strong defensively by winning the majority of his duels for Celtic, and these statistics show that he was even better than Bernardo – by being involved in more goals and winning more duels.

It was a huge all-round performance from the Ireland international and one that, perhaps, he needed to silence some of his doubters after some struggles for club and country at times this season.
Liam Scales' troubles this season
The Ireland international has not always been the most appreciated member of the Celtic squad. At the end of the 2023/24 campaign, The Celtic Star published an article in defence of the centre-back and claimed that he had become the ‘whipping boy’ of a certain section of the fanbase.
That particular article suggested that fans had been getting on the defender’s back, despite his inclusion in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year, and some of his struggles at the start of this season did not help that narrative.
Celtic defender Liam Scales.
Scales gave away a penalty in the 2-1 win over Ross County earlier this season, handballing a cross that came into the box, and made an error that directly led to a shot in a 2-0 win over Kilmarnock.
He also played the full 90 minutes of the 7-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League and lost three of his four ground duels, whilst being dribbled past twice without making a single tackle against the German giants.

As you can see in the table above, Scales has made plenty of appearances in all competitions for Celtic this season and has not made a string of huge errors, with the aforementioned games against Dortmund, Kilmarnock, and Ross County the outliers.
The centre-back did, however, get sent off for Ireland in his most recent outing before Saturday’s game, as he was booked twice in a 5-0 defeat to England.
However, any doubters questioning his inclusion in the starting line-up ahead of Trusty for the clash with Ross County were silenced, as Scales put on a masterclass with his performance this weekend.

Four things Sri Lanka might have learned from their T20 February, with an eye to the World Cup
Andrew Fidel Fernando27-Feb-2022
Dasun Shanaka and Pathum Nissanka put on 58 for the fifth wicket in the second T20I against India•BCCI
They have a top threePathum Nissanka’s strike rate across these eight matches was 117, but he stuck it out for 260 runs. For now, Nissanka is not necessarily a match-winning T20 opener, but in the context of a hilariously fragile Sri Lanka top order, his tenacity is useful. Plus, at age 23, there’s an element of investing for the future here.Kusal Mendis, meanwhile, hit 100 runs in the three innings he got in Australia (he was injured for the India series), and hit a good 69* in Melbourne to top score in Sri Lanka’s only victory in this stretch.Charith Asalanka was not quite at his best this month, but given his runs at the T20 World Cup last year, he’s hard to displace. The likes of Danushka Gunathilaka, Janith Liyanage, and Kamil Mishara didn’t make enough of an impact to break into that top three.Kumara could still be a good T20 bowler (just not at the death)Lahiru Kumara played just five of the eight matches, but got nine wickets – as many as Dushmantha Chameera, who played all eight. This is a slightly unfair comparison, since Chameera bowls more often at the difficult stages of an innings – the death in particular – and Kumara has been given easier conditions. But if Kumara can be a wicket-taking threat through the early and middle overs, that’s enough, for now.Through the course of those five matches, Kumara has often been the quickest bowler on show (across both teams), and roughed opposition batters up with his bouncers. If he stays fit, and keeps working on those skills, the quicker tracks in Australia could suit him nicely in October.Related

Shanaka the big-hitter emergesNo one wanted to say it. But although the T20 team was doing better under Dasun Shanaka than it had under several previous leaders, the captain’s own form had been awful. In 20 innings as captain until the first match of this India series, Shanaka had hit just 334 runs at a strike rate of 107.Just in the last two games at Dharamsala though – one of the bounciest tracks in South Asia – Shanaka has found his range. He bashed 47 not out off 19 in the second match, then a stunning 74 not out off 38 in the third, having come in at 29 for 4.Sri Lanka had lacked lower-order firepower in the last T20 World Cup. They need Shanaka to continue his big-hitting into October and November. The Chandimal experiment is over. Right?Dinesh Chandimal has played 61 T20 innings, striking at 104. Let’s not sugarcoat it. These are appalling numbers. When it comes to Chandimal, though, there always seems to be hope that he can resurrect the hyper-aggressive past version of himself, and this is what the selectors thought when he tore up the Lanka Premier League in November last year, hitting 277 runs at a strike rate of 151, as a finisher.Sadly, he has not even come close to replicating those numbers in the seven T20I innings he got in February, making just 112 runs, at a strike rate of 97. He’s got to be done, right? No way the selectors can pick him in this format. That is until he carves up another domestic season.
Veja o lance no vídeo acima!

Many Chelsea fans thought the Blues could struggle to score at the same rate they did last campaign under new manager Enzo Maresca, as his football is more methodical, looking to slow the game down and assert control.
However, Maresca has managed to implement the perfect blend, controlling games effectively with 56.4% possession, whilst still creating high xG chances, forcing artificial transitions, taking 15.3 shots per 90, and scoring 35 goals.
Chelsea are the top scoring team in the Premier League this season, four goals ahead of second-place Liverpool in this statistic and the Blues could be looking to add another creative attacker, who could take them up to another level.
Chelsea could sign Premier League starlet
According to reports from CaughtOffiside, Chelsea are interested in Southampton wonderkid, Tyler Dibling. Manchester United are also said to be interested in the 18-year-old superstar, alongside Newcastle, Tottenham, Aston Villa and West Ham.
The report states Dibling would cost at least €25m (around £20m), but the Saints are determined to fight to keep hold of their young superstar, having already lost him once to Chelsea back in 2022, before returning to Southampton just two months later.
Hailed as a “special” player by pundit Danny Murphy, Dibling has made 16 appearances so far this season, scoring once, providing two assists, and totalling 957 minutes played. He has also shown his versatility, playing multiple positions for Russel Martin’s side, including right-wing, attacking midfield, and even centre-forward.

What Tyler Dibling could bring to Chelsea
The 18-year-old attacker has been praised as a “creative” talent by scout Jacek Kulig, who spoke about the youngsters’ elegance on the ball and his close control in tight spaces.
Thus, his ability to manipulate the ball in confined spaces, find clever passes through tight gaps, and drift inside to get shots off, is reminiscent of Chelsea legend, Joe Cole.
But another player Dibling is compared to, and one who has also played for Chelsea is Callum Hudson-Odoi. Stats-led website FBref suggest the two wide players are “similar players” and here’s why…

First and foremost, both of the wingers in question are creative forces who like to use their full toolset to create chances for both themselves and others.
The ability to carry the ball themselves into the opposition half, commit defenders 1v1, find clever passes into the box, but also cut inside and get a shot off themselves, makes them unpredictable with their actions.
Whilst Hudson-Odoi is currently completing more key passes, generating more shot-creating actions, and completing more progressive carries per 90, Dibling is actually providing more assists, with 0.18 to Hudson-Odoi’s 0.08, and more xAG (expected assisted goals) per 90, with 0.12 to Odoi’s 0.10.
Chelsea have shown their quality in the attacking areas this season, being the top scorers in the Premier League but the impact of a creative winger who has a complete toolset, much like Jadon Sancho who was also signed this summer, gives Maresca the opportunity to mix up his approach, using more direct wingers in certain games, and better creative passers in others.

Capitals race to 81 inside powerplay, and past the target in 10.3 overs, after restricting Kings to 115, the lowest total this season
Sidharth Monga20-Apr-20222:08
Manjrekar: Pant’s use of spinners was exceptional
The Delhi Capitals players spent the last four days inside their hotel rooms, unsure if they would get to play this match. They even had a change of venues to facilitate the match, but till about an hour before the game, they didn’t have the go-ahead to go to the ground, especially with a sixth member, Tim Seifert, testing positive for Covid-19 on the day. From the moment they were uncaged, almost everything went right: they won the toss, bowled Punjab Kings out for 115, and chased it down in 10.3 overs to earn some extra time off before they went back into their rooms.Punjab Kings, who have now lost more tosses than any side this IPL, stayed true to their aggressive approach but didn’t have the depth to match, especially with Odean Smith dropped for a specialist bowler, Nathan Ellis. Wickets kept falling – two each to Lalit Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Khaleel Ahmed – on what Axar called a sticky surface, although it didn’t look too sticky when the Capitals batters ended the chase in a hurry.Agarwal gets off to a flier Mayank Agarwal, who missed the last game with injury, came back but that didn’t make any difference to Kings’ luck at the toss. Asked to bat first, Agarwal started off with intent. Staying beside the line of the ball he hit three boundaries in three overs before picking one off into the leg side last ball of the third as Shardul Thakur tried to cramp him for room. Kings were 27 for no loss in three overs with traditionally more expensive powerplay overs to come.Kuldeep Yadav struck twice in quick succession, sending back Kagiso Rabada and Nathan Ellis•BCCI/IPL
A wicket an over times four Rishabh Pant played match-ups by bowling Lalit to Shikhar Dhawan and got a wicket immediately, although not conceivably in a planned manner. This was a long hop down the leg side, Dhawan tried to help it along to fine leg, but just didn’t get there in time, and Pant took a special catch off the face of the bat. In the next over, Agarwal, trying to stay beside the line, ended up playing on to Mustafizur Rahman. This wasn’t going to slow Kings down in the last over of the powerplay. Liam Livingstone tried to take Axar down, but missed wildly and got stumped. In the next over, Jonny Bairstow nailed a flat pull off Khaleel, but found long leg with precision. Four wickets gone for 21 runs.A new bunch of four Jitesh Sharma and Shahrukh Khan stemmed the fall of wickets – Jitesh even managed a strike rate of about 140 – but their partnership ended at 31. Jitesh tried to sweep one of the most difficult bowlers to sweep – Axar – and paid the price with an lbw. In the one match that Kings didn’t play Smith, they found themselves five down with the best part of eight overs to go.Kuldeep then went through Kagiso Rabada and Ellis in the 14th over, Rabada with the wrong’un and Ellis with the conventional wristspin. When Shahrukh edged a Khaleel offcutter through to Pant in the next over, the last hope of a fighting total disappeared. The last two wickets added 23 but not at a pace that would bother Capitals.David Warner ended with 60 not out in just 30 balls•BCCI
Shaw, Warner romp home The target was never going to test the Capitals batters, but they were not going to stroll to it. Teams are aware how important net run-rate can be. Not that Prithvi Shaw needs any extra motivation to go from ball one, but David Warner, too, could play much more freely than he does as the experienced batter in the side. Not surprisingly, it began with Shaw, first off an inside edge to a big inswinger from Vaibhav Arora, then more deliberately. Once Warner started going after Rabada, it was almost a hit-off between the two. If Warner hit two fours off Arora, Shaw responded with a six. Warner raised three fours off Rabada in the fourth. It took them to fifty in 3.3 overs, the fastest this season and the fifth-highest 3.3-over score in the history of the IPL.Capitals ended the powerplay with 81, the highest for any Delhi-based team in the IPL. This was the highest percentage of a 100-plus target shaved off inside the powerplay in all IPL matches. The powerplay failed to dim their intent. While Shaw fell for 41 off 20, trying to hit Rahul Chahar for a six in the seventh over, Warner went on to add to his record of fifty-plus scores in the IPL.
