Tony Mowbray would have been overjoyed by what he saw during his second game back in charge of West Bromwich Albion as the Baggies tore Portsmouth to shreds.

Indeed, his new side would end up beating John Mousinho’s men by five goals to one, with the emphatic nature of the scoreline made to look even more impressive by the fact West Brom’s main striker Josh Maja is sidelined through injury.

Although Mowbray would have been pleased by his side’s attacking intent without the ex-Sunderland man present, he will still be looking for some fresh blood in the striker department this transfer window as this new target begins to be linked with the Championship side.

Guiu will hope the same can happen here as the 19-year-old has been tipped for greatness in the past, with signs of that promise coming to the forefront in spurts when playing in the first team ranks in West London.

So far this season, when gifted chances in the senior mix by Maresca, Guiu has delivered the goods with an impressive six strikes tallied up from 12 games, with all of those strikes coming in the UEFA Conference League.

Now, the former Barcelona man – who was labelled as “exquisite” by former Chelsea great Joe Cole earlier this campaign – will hope he can show off his class in a more testing environment such as the Championship to begin to really earn his stripes like Lukaku did.

After all, before his formative loan spell to the West Midlands came to be, Lukaku hadn’t quite transformed yet into the clinical attacker he’s known as today, with eight appearances in the Chelsea men’s set-up passing him by.

However, the switch to the Baggies helped the Belgian gain his confidence in the men’s game with a blistering 17 strikes coming his way from 38 total games, before then going to star at the likes of Everton, Manchester United and Inter Milan.

Guiu will hope his time at the Hawthorns can be as impactful if a move gets off the ground, having already bagged two goals in the Barca main team before Chelsea swooped in to further prove his raw ability to finish off chances under pressure.

وأكمل: “أنا أعرف ومتأكد أن هذا العضو ذهب إلى عبد الله السعيد باتفاق جديد واتفاق (أي كلام)، أنا ممكن أقول اسمه أمام جمهور الزمالك لكي لا يتدخل بعد ذلك فيما لا يعنيه”.

وأتم: “عبد الله السعيد لم يتمرد ولم يتمارض كما تردد”.

Tottenham are convinced they’ve signed a “generational talent” in Tel, with journalist Dean Jones now sharing what the future holds in store for him after Spurs signed the attacker on loan with an option to buy.

According to Jones, speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, Tottenham fully intend to sign Tel permanently, but the reporter personally doubts whether Postecoglou’s newest recruit wants the same thing.

“At the end of the day, even if it was a dry loan, which it was going to be, in that moment, I spoke to Tottenham and I wrote a story about it. It was like Tottenham still, I think I tweeted it, I think, rather than wrote about it, it was like, Tottenham still intend to make this a permanent signing,” said Jones.

“Like, this isn’t what they want, like they’ll do it. If this is the way to do it, then all they’ll do over the following months is try to convince him that this is the place for him.

“I still feel like the player doesn’t fully want to leave Bayern Munich, and even if he does really well here at Tottenham, he might see it as, well, if I do really well, I can play for Bayern Munich again. So maybe I’m being cynical about that, but I get that impression. He didn’t really want this transfer to happen, did he?

“It was only when Man United pulled out that it came back on the table because he wanted to go there.

“Yeah, I mean, there is an element, I imagine, that he really did want to go out and get minutes, whether that meant he wanted to depart Bayern permanently or not, it is a different question. But I’m quite interested with this whole Ange Postecoglou getting on the phone and basically being like, look, this is how I see you fitting into my system. This is where I foresee you getting minutes.”

Lahore Qalandars has expanded its Player Development Programme (PDP) to include women cricketers, in a bid to expand the playing base in Pakistan. The franchise is set to launch an open trial on October 18 in Lahore, with stints in Rawalpindi, Abbottabad and Gilgit as well, to pick a team of 22 women who will be offered a year-long contract with the aim of nurturing their talent.The model is similar to Qalandars’ men’s PDP, which has been in place since 2016, and has helped to create a production line of players for the PSL and the national circuit, with fast bowler Haris Rauf its biggest success story. Acceptance for women cricketers has grown in the bigger cities like Lahore and Karachi, but in general there is a still a wider reluctance to let women play the game professionally.For women, the pathway to Pakistan’s senior women’s team had till recently now been unclear, with no lines going down to the grassroots level, meaning a pool of only 30-35 competitive cricketers at the senior level. Women cricketers had two tournaments: three teams each playing the National T20 and ODI Challenge Cups. But the PCB recently launched and conducted a successful Under-19 tournament, with an on the inaugural Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa next year.

وفي حديثه عن مستقبله التدريبي، قال المدرب الهولندي: “لا أدرب أي فريق حاليًا، لكنني كنت أمتلك عرضًا مثيرًا للعودة إلى مصر، وأتمنى أن أُقدم شيئًا لها حيث أحبها كثيرًا”.

وحول النصيحة التي يوجهها لنادي الزمالك، قال كرول: “كرة القدم تعتمد على التنظيم، على المدى القريب والبعيد، الزمالك يمتلك دائمًا قاعدة مميزة من اللاعبين الشباب، ولكن الأهم هو الحفاظ على الاستقرار الداخلي، وألا تخرج المشاكل للإعلام، مع ضرورة وجود اتساق وتفاهم بين جميع عناصر النادي لاحتواء الأزمات قبل أن تتفاقم”.

Romero is on Real’s shortlist of potential centre-back signings, alongside Arsenal star William Saliba, but chairman Daniel Levy won’t be letting him go on the cheap.

Indeed, it is believed by some media sources that Spurs have slapped a mammoth £150 million price tag on Romero, while other reports suggest Tottenham are ready to make the World Cup winner their highest-paid player to fend off Madrid’s interest.

The former Atalanta star has been a very sore miss for under-fire boss Ange Postecoglou, who’s suffered without both Romero and Micky van de Ven to reinforce their high line, and his injury is taking more time to heal than previously expected.

“Romero is a bit of a tricky one. We are not really sure yet. There is still some work he needs to do,” said Postecoglou on Romero recently.

“It’s just a slower healer with him, and it is one we are looking at on a week-to-week basis. Again, he has been out for quite a while. As with all the other long-term ones, we are just taking our time.”

While Spurs are not eager to sell the 26-year-old any time soon, they’re making contingency plans in the event they’re forced to do a deal with Real or any other interested club.

According to journalist Graeme Bailey, writing for The Boot Room, Tottenham are working on replacements for Romero, and have identified marquee Benfica defender Antonio Silva as a target.

The Portugal international’s contract includes an £83 million release clause, but there is always the possibility that the Lilywhites can negotiate a fee far lower than this valuation.

Silva, still just 21-years-old and an impressive performer in the Primeira Liga, could be worth the effort – especially going by Jan Vertonghen’s verdict on the player.

“The boy will be a legend,” the former Tottenham man said via Record. “If he keeps doing what he’s been doing, he has everything to be one of the best defenders in the world in a year or two.”
