Tottenham Hotspur have now held talks with the agents of a “sensational” £40m striker, who is attracting widespread interest from Premier League clubs, according to a report.

Tottenham are one of many big Premier League clubs looking at bringing in a striker this summer, with both Dominic Solanke and Richarlison struggling with injuries at times this season, which has left Ange Postecoglou lacking options in attack.

Moise Kean is the latest player to be shortlisted, with Spurs now monitoring the former Everton man, who has enjoyed a very impressive campaign with Fiorentina in the Serie A, while a ‘super’ bid could be made for Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres.

The Lilywhites have also started to make moves for Lille striker Jonathan David, who will be available for free in the summer, but with a number of Europe’s top clubs vying to sign the Canadian, it could prove to be very difficult to get a deal done.

Another striker who is attracting widespread interest is Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap, in light of a solid debut campaign in the Premier League, and a report from The Boot Room has revealed Tottenham have now held talks with the forward’s agents.

Barring Manchester City, the rest of the Premier League’s ‘big six’ hold an interest in Delap, with Newcastle United also in the race for his signature, which means a deal will not be easy to complete.

Man City own a 20% sell-on clause on their former forward, which means they will pocket a tidy sum from any sale, with the Tractor Boys looking to hold out for around £40m.

"Sensational" Delap impressing in a poor side

Ipswich are now nine points from safety, following a four-game losing streak in the Premier League, but their one shining light this season has been Delap, who has regularly been amongst the goals.

The Englishman has 10 goals and two assists to his name in 28 Premier League outings, which has led to high praise from some members of the media, having been dubbed “sensational” by GOAL writer Jacob Schneider.

Roy Keane and Daniel Sturridge have also been very impressed by the 22-year-old, with the former describing him as an “aggressive” striker.

A proposta do Allianz Parque com a nova iluminação é proporcionar um show de luzes para impressionar o público presente no estádio ou pela transmissão na TV. With BlueCo controlling the Blues’ purse strings, Todd Boehly has no shortage of money to spend on bringing new additions to Stamford Bridge at any given point in time.

Nottinghamshire put themselves in a position to dictate the terms of the final day as openers Ben Slater and Haseeb Hameed built on a small first-innings lead to leave their side 210 in front with nine wickets in hand at the close of day three of their LV= Insurance County Championship match against Kent.The pair shared a partnership of 131 – Nottingham’s best this season for the first wicket – before Hameed was out for 45 six overs before the close. Slater’s unbeaten 87 leaves him 13 runs away from a second hundred in the match, with Will Young on 32 from just 19 balls as Nottinghamshire finished on 176 for one.Earlier, although there were solid performances from Harry Finch (73) and Joey Evison (49), Kent ultimately squandered what looked to be a good position in reply to Nottinghamshire’s first-innings 350 by losing their last five wickets for 23 to be 316 all out.Leg-spinner Calvin Harrison finished with a career-best four for 28 – albeit in only his seventh first-class match – and Brett Hutton kept his nose in front as Division One’s leading wicket-taker with three for 76, despite Jamie Porter taking 10 in the match for Essex against Hampshire.Kent, whose relegation worries have increased with Middlesex’s win at Edgbaston, had been well placed at 102 for two when rain forced them off at tea on Wednesday, but their morning began badly when Ben Geddes, the loanee from Surrey who had played well for his 36, was out in the second over, caught by Harrison at second slip chasing a widish ball from Hutton that found some extra bounce.A recovery followed. A couple of overs more and they were all out and conceding a 34-run deficit, the leg-spinner finishing the innings with two in two balls as Arshdeep holed out to deep midwicket and Arafat Bhuiyan offered him a rigid front pad.By the evening, largely played out in sunshine, the pitch looked to have settled down and Slater and Hameed exposed the limitations of the Kent attack, which lacks a front-line spinner, proceeding largely untroubled, certainly in terms of chances offered, through almost 35 overs before Hameed aimed an injudicious slash at a shortish wide delivery from Arshdeep Singh and was caught behind.Kent’s over-rate was pedestrian and could yet do them damage at a stage in the season when bonus points become critical. They have a chance to improve things on day four but as things stand they are at minus three. If that were to translate to points docked, even a draw here would leave them in the relegation places.

A conversa contou com a participação deFelipe Ximenes, gestor com passagens por diversos clubes brasileiros, Cícero Souza, gerente de futebol do Palmeiras, e Bruno Spindel, executivo do Flamengo.

Para Rui, é essencial que além dos recursos necessários para a implantação de um negócio dentro do time, é preciso ter como foco os principiais objetivos a serem alcançados.

O atual diretor-executivo são-paulino iniciou a carreira no Grêmio, em 2013, e participou na montagem do elenco que conquistou a Copa do Brasil de 2016 e a Libertadores, no ano seguinte. Também esteve presente na reconstrução da Chapecoense, após o acidente. Além disso, contou com passagens pelo Athletico-PR e pelo Atlético-MG.

-Na indústria do futebol, não adianta participar de um projeto se não sei onde quero chegar. Mesmo que haja muitos recursos e condições favoráveis para implantação de um planejamento, é necessário ter em mente exatamente o que preciso e desejo, seja em um clube de primeira ou segunda divisão, se não o fracasso é quase uma obviedade – afirmou o dirigente.

Com sua experiência em diversos clubes, Rui Costa também ressaltou ser importante reconhecer a cultura da equipe e com o que está lidando quando o assunto é gestão esportiva.

-Eu tive a oportunidade profissional de trabalhar em clubes completamente distintos. Aprendi que é fundamental compreender onde você está, com quem está lidando, qual cultura está integrando e de que forma você vai rapidamente pertencer a esse processo – destacou.

-Há uma série de variáveis que faz com que você se volte para dentro. Cada vez mais nós temos que dimensionar claramente que precisamos olhar as coisas de forma muito ampla e não de forma específica – completou.

No São Paulo, atua como diretor-executivo há quase dois anos. Desde quando assumiu o cargo, esteve presente na conquista de um título – no caso, o Campeonato Paulista de 2021. Este, por sua vez, rompeu um jejum sem conquistas que era mantido há mais de oito anos.

O dirigente destacou que um dos principais focos da sua gestão é recuperar o protagonismo do clube. Conforme as suas palavras, as finais recentes e as classificações para as semifinais da Copa Sul-Americana e Copa do Brasil já é um caminho para este objetivo.

Porém, Rui Costa também afirmou ser essencial ter um planejamento estratégico pensando nestes pontos.

-O título paulista tem peso para o São Paulo. Chegamos em duas finais, perdemos uma e ganhamos outra. Chegar às semifinais (Copa do Brasil e Sul-Americana) também era um dos objetivos para a retomada do protagonismo. O que temos hoje é algo a ser comemorado Mas é importante que a gente consiga construir essa retomada de planejamento vitorioso e estratégico – concluiu.
