Danni Wyatt led the Southern Brave into Sunday’s Hundred final at Lord’s with a superb 60 off 32 balls, as they chased down 119 to beat Manchester Originals by eight wickets in their final group fixture at Emirates Old Trafford, where there was drama on and off the field.England spinner and Originals captain Sophie Ecclestone was ruled out after suffering a shoulder injury during warm-up. Ireland are actually coming into this series on something of a winning streak in white-ball cricket against England. – Eu converso bastante com a minha esposa sobre isso, porque foi uma uma proposta muito rápida que apareceu, né? Estávamos de férias em meio à turbulência sobre o meu fim de contrato no Recife. – Não é evitar fazer falta, até porque se for pegar meus números dentro de campo eu disputo bastante bola, tiro bastante. Eu não evito fazer falta, é consequência dos jogos em que o juiz não dá uma falta ou outra, mas eu não evito. Isso vem do meu trabalho no dia a dia. Às vezes os meninos até brincam que eu prefiro errar um passe para ir no bobinho marcar. Graças a Deus estou esses sete jogos sem fazer falta e espero continuar.

Inzamam-ul-Haq has resigned as Pakistan chief selector with immediate effect after meeting PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf in Lahore today after uncomfortable questions around a potential conflict of interest were raised.Reports in the Pakistan media emerged that Inzamam is one of four active directors in a UK-based company called Yazoo International Ltd. Another director at the company is Talha Rehmani, managing director of Saya Corporation, an agency that represents many of the Pakistan cricket team’s most prominent players, including Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan. According to gov.uk, a UK government public sector information website, Rizwan is also a director at Yazoo alongside Inzamam. The company secretary is Intisar-ul-Haq, Inzamam’s brother.All three directors and the company secretary were appointed on 7 December 2020, and when Inzamam was announced as Pakistan chief selector earlier this year, his involvement – or that of his brother’s, Rizwan’s or Rehmani’s – with Yazoo was not made public. This has raised uncomfortable questions about whether it was fit and proper for the cricket team’s national selector to have a direct stake in a company that had Pakistan cricket’s most prominent player agent as a director. The PCB appears to have directly linked the conflict of interest to the team selection process, a more significant charge than mere injudiciousness.All this comes amidst a backdrop of deepening chaos at the PCB both on and off-field. The PCB management committee, which Ashraf heads, sees its tenure officially end next week, but there are no signs yet on whether elections for the PCB chairman will be held, or if Ashraf will be a contender for the role. On the field, Pakistan have lost four games in a row at the World Cup for the first time ever, and are on the brink of a first-round exit.

Com a folha salarial próxima dos R$ 20 milhões mensais, a direção do alvinegro tem como um dos objetivos enxugar esse valor ou, pelo menos, repetir o que foi feito no ano passado, quando a equipe ‘se livrou’ de jogadores que estavam encostado e encorpou o elenco com contratações que chegaram para jogar.

O quarteto que encabeça a lista de dispensas possui realidades diferentes. Robson e Melo, por exemplo, estão emprestados por outros clubes e serão devolvidos ao fim do Brasileirão. Xavier tem vínculo com o Corinthians até o fim do ano que vem e não deve ser renovado. Já Cantillo entra no caso de atletas que têm um salário elevado, nunca apresentou aquilo que se esperava dele e não vive boa fase.

A diretoria corintiana, portanto, deve ir em busca de interessados para comprá-lo ou vai emprestar o meia colombiano para algum clube que esteja disposto a bancar os vencimentos, integralmente.

Outros atletas podem ser incluídos nesta ‘lista de dispensas’, são eles:o meia-atacante Mateus Vital eos meias Ramiro e Roni.

No entanto, isso já passa pela permanência, ou não, de Vítor Pereira. Nas últimas semanas, o treinador português tem participado ativamente da construção do futebol do Corinthians para 2023, mas as conversas giraram em torno das carências no elenco, para que a direção vá em busca de reforços dentro de um determinado perfil.

Caso Vítor fique no Timão, Ramiro e Vital devem permanecer. A dupla estava emprestada até o meio desta temporada, retornou ao Timão no segundo semestre e caiu nas graças do técnico. Por um bom momento, o clube alvinegro tentou encontrar novos destinos para os dois atletas, mas, sem sucesso, eles foram incorporados ao plantel corintiano.

O caso de Ramiro é o mais delicado, já que ele tem contrato até o fim desta temporada, eaté agorao Corinthians não conversou com o estafe do atleta, por renovação. Sentar para discutir em um momento de alta do jogador pode colocar o Timão com a ‘faca no pescoço’ na hora de ir à mesa.

Já Roni vive uma incógnita independentemente do futuro do treinador. O garoto, de 23 anos, é visto como negociável por todas as partes, mas pode ser útil para a composição do elenco, principalmente frente à possível saída de Cantillo.

Perder o colombiano e também Roni desfalcaria o ‘time’ de volantes corintianos. Por ser cinco anos mais novo, uma prata da casa e com maior potencial de evolução e até comercialização do que Cantillo, Roni, que tem contrato com o Corinthians até dezembro de 2024, só deve deixar o Timão na próxima temporada caso haja uma oferta boa para o clube. Neste caso, nenhum esforço seria feito para segurar o jogador.

OUTROS PROBLEMAS

Além dos atletas que compõem o elenco corintiano no momento, o Time do Povo conta com seis atletas que voltarão de empréstimo ao fim desta temporada: o zagueiro Léo Santos (Ponte Preta), o volante Matheus Jesus (Ponte Preta), o meia-atacante Luan (Santos), e os atacantes Janderson (Grêmio), Jonathan Cafú (Cuiabá) e Mateus Davó (Bahia).

Todos eles possuem vínculo com o Corinthians até o fim do ano que vem, mas nenhum desses atletas faz parte dos planos do clube para 2023.

A direção corintiana ainda sonha em lucrar, mesmo que seja pouco, com alguns atletas, como Léo Santos e Davó. São nomes que interessam ao mercado internacional. No caso dos demais, conseguir um novo empréstimo, para se livrar dos salários no último de contrato, já é tido como um bom negócio para a cúpula corintiana.

Outros quatro atletas que estão emprestados também estão no fim dos seus contratos com o Timão e ficarão livres no mercado ao final deste ano: o zagueiro/lateral-esquerdo Danilo Avelar (América-MG), os meias Thiaguinho (Botafogo-SP) e Fessin (Ponte Preta), e o atacante Matheus Matias (Ponte Preta).

O goleiro Ivan, e os atacantes Gustavo Mantuan e Rodrigo Varanda são outros ativos que o Timão tem cedidos a outros clubes, mas esses têm vínculos de empréstimo válidos até o meio da próxima temporada. Os dois primeiros estão no Zenit, da Rússia, enquanto o último atualmente veste a camisa do Akritas Chlorakas, do Chipre.
