أكد محمد سراج الدين عضو مجلس إدارة الأهلي، أنهم كانوا لديهم ثقة كبيرة في اللاعبين والجهاز الفني لتحقيق ميدالية في كأس العالم للأندية.

الأهلي حقق المركز الثالث في بطولة كأس العالم للأندية، بعد الفوز على بالميراس البرازيلي بركلات الترجيح، بنتيجة 3-2.

وقال سراج الدين خلال تصريحات لقناة “أون تايم سبورت”: “مباراة الدحيل أنا كنت متفائل وكنت واثقًا في اسم الأهلي واللاعبين والحهاز الفني ولدينا الطموح لرفع اسم الأهلي”.

وتابع: “الأهلي أكبر الأندية في إفريقيا والعالم، ليس لدينا خوف من أي فريق”.

وأضاف: “الصفقات والأرقام لا تشكل قوة للفريق أو المنافسة، هناك عوامل أخرى للنحاج وهي الجماهير والتاريخ والدعم بجانب القيمة المالية”.

وأردف: “في مباراة بايرن ميونخ، كان أكثر شيء أعجبني الروح والإصرار للاعبين في الأهلي حتى آخر دقيقة”.

وواصل: “في مباراة بالميراس، كنا الأفضل، وكاد أن يسجل فريقنا هدفين في الشوط الأول، كنت قلقًا عندما وصلنا إلى ضربات الجزاء”.

وعن حديث البعض عن ضعف المنافسين في هذه النسخة بكأس العالم للاندية، أوضح: “لا نشغل بالنا بأي شئ، الذي يتحدث عن ذلك، أقول له اوصل إلى هذا المستوى أولًا ثم تحدث”.

وعن تطورات استاد الأهلي، قال: “الموضوع قائم ونعمل عليه وليس بعيدًا، هناك بعض الموافقات والتصريحات إذا انتهت ستكون من هنا البداية”.

وذكرت شبكة “أوبتا” العالمية للأرقام والإحصائيات، أن هدف تارمي هو ثالث أسرع هدف يدخل شباك يوفنتوس في دوري الأبطال.

Despite the high-profile departures of both Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini in recent transfer windows, Manchester United have done little to replace some of the players they have lost in midfield. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has publicly insisted he trusts in the club’s youth talents to make the step up to the first-team, and one man who the Red Devils will heavily rely upon to have an impressive campaign, is Scott McTominay.

The 22-year-old has played in a variety of positions for the club since making his senior debut, and that has cost him more than anything. Versatility is often a desired trait in players, but it can also lead to a case of not knowing where your strongest role is. McTominay has played across most midfield positions, but this season United will surely need him to nail down a spot.

Solskjaer has used the Scot as part of a deeper-lying midfield two in pre-season, and his energy and industry is something United desperately need. In the high-intensity game the side are looking to implement, McTominay’s role in closing down opposition players and shielding the back four will be crucial.

Whilst much of the criticism when a goal gets conceded is aimed at either the defenders or the goalkeeper, the protection in front of them also needs to be scrutinised. If, as pre-season indicates, McTominay plays alongside Paul Pogba in a midfield two, then it will be the former who has to retain some defensive responsibility. At 22, McTominay is no longer at an age where mistakes or bad performances can be put down to inexperience.

After a summer where the club failed to land its midfield targets, it will be up to McTominay to really step his game up and show that serious progress is being made.

Adam Forshaw has been hailed by a number of Leeds United fans for his performance in the 1-0 win over Brentford on Wednesday night.

Eddie Nketiah scored the game’s only goal in the 81st minute as the on-loan forward added to the strike that he managed in the EFL Cup against Salford City.

However, it was the performance of Forshaw in the middle of the park that really captured the attention of the club’s fans.

According to WhoScored, the 27-year-old had a pass success rate of 95% during his 90 minutes on the field, which is an indication of his calmness on the ball.

It was a match where Marcelo Bielsa’s side had to grind out the three points rather than play open, expansive football against the Bees.

When your left-back features in the top two for assists and top five for goals last season, you know there may be a slight issue with your team. Lucas Digne enjoyed a marvellous campaign for Everton following his arrival from Barcelona, but Marco Silva’s side seemed to really lean on the defender to deliver the goods going forward.

The France international appears to be a dead-ball specialist, taking corners and free-kicks for the Toffees whenever Gylfi Sigurdsson doesn’t. But it’s the side’s reliance on the left-back to be their main attacking outlet in open play, that is threatening to really back-fire on them.

Following a defeat to newly-promoted Aston Villa on Friday night, Everton find themselves with just one goal to their name in their opening three Premier League games of the season. One of the big worries for Silva has to be that he has picked line-ups that contain some of his most destructive offensive players in Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Bernard, and seen little reward.

All three had an uneventful game against Dean Smith’s side, and the responsibility of creating chances was almost exclusively shunted towards Digne on the left-hand side. The full-back put in game-highs of eight crosses into the box and four key passes, and saw none of them converted.

If the Toffees continue to use the former PSG star as their chief architect, opposition teams will simply get their wingers to double-back and provide support for the full-back. It was startling to see how Silva’s men looked lost with the ball in central areas, and time and time again shifted the ball to the 26-year-old even where there was no room to cross.

Whilst their defensive record has been impressive, their ability to find goal-creating options from elsewhere will be the main source of concern for Silva.

Mauricio Pochettino has shrugged off claims that he could leave the club in the next week, per The London Evening Standard.

What’s he said?

TalkSPORT claimed on Thursday that this weekend’s clash with Arsenal could be Pochettino’s last match in charge of Spurs.

The Standard also reports that bookmakers suspended betting on the former Southampton manager walking away but he has now rubbished the rumours, labelling them “stupid”.

He said: “What can I say about a stupid rumour? After five years, now I start the sixth and you know how we work in the summer to try to rebuild and update the squad.

“Now we are 6.0 software. The new version. That stupidity can only happen through some rumours on social media that create a big, big problem that doesn’t exist. I’m not going to walk away after the north London derby.

“I’m going to be here Monday and Tuesday. My plan is to travel – I don’t want to say where – and then Friday [back] again to London, meeting with Daniel (Levy).

“We’re going to watch some national team games live, and then Monday preparing for the new week. I’m not the type of person who sends messages through social. Did you bet [on it]? It’s closed now, eh? You lost your money!”

No surprise

How anyone could actually think that Pochettino was set to leave is baffling.

Yes, Spurs have not started the season in the best form and were appalling as they lost 1-0 to Newcastle United at the weekend.

But does that mean Pochettino is poised to depart? Absolutely not.

He signed a five-year contract in 2018 and has just overseen major surgery on his squad.

وقالت الشبكة إن إدارة نابولي رفضت هذا العرض، حيث ترغب في الحصول على 75 مليون يورو، مُشيرة إلى أنّ كلا الناديين سيحاولان الوصول إلى حل وسط.

كوليبالي يتواجد كذلك على رادار أندية إنجليزية، على رأسها فريقي ليفربول ومانشستر يونايتد إلى جانب تشيلسي.

كوليبالي هذا الموسم مع نابولي خاض 28 مباراة بمختلف المسابقات، وتمكن من إحراز هدفًا في كأس إيطاليا.

وواصل: “الفوز بهدف فقط؟ أي نتيجة تُعد كبيرة، لم نحصل على ما يكفي في المباريات الماضية، وأنا أتحمل مسؤولية ما حدث، ولكن لا يمكن التقليل من أي فوز، وأنا سعيد بتلك النتيجة”.

وعن طرد لاعب شيفيلد فيل جاغيلكا، قال وايلدر: “لم يكن قرارًا جيدًا، لا أعتقد أن أستون فيلا يستطيع الشكوى من بعض القرارات التي اتُخذت ضدنا في مبارياتنا الثلاثة السابقة”.

وتابع: “كان الأمر قاسيًا، كان من الصعب اللاعب بـ10 لاعبين فقط، ولكن نجحنا في الفوز والحصول على نقاط المباراة في النهاية”.
