Celtic midfielder David Turnbull is definitely out of the trip to St. Mirren this evening through injury, Football Scotland report.

The Lowdown: Turnbull under Postecoglou

Turnbull has been an ever-present figure under Ange Postecoglou this season, featuring in every single game this season.

He’s scored nine times and registered seven assists in all competitions but hobbled off at Hampden Park on Sunday as the Hoops won the Scottish League Cup.

Postecoglou recently praised the Scot and admitted that the 22-year-old has been given ‘information’ every week in regards to improving his game. However, it now seems as if he is the latest man to join Celtic’s long injury list, just as they showed signs of slowing up with Kyogo Furuhashi returning against Hibernian on Sunday.

The Latest: Postecoglou’s comments

Football Scotland shared comments from Postecoglou in a story on Wednesday morning.

The Hoops boss confirmed that on-loan winger Jota looks set to remain sidelined until after the winter break, before having this to say on Turnbull’s hamstring issue.

“Dave was the major one coming out of the Final. We have had the scan, but we haven’t had the results yet.

“He will definitely be out for St Mirren, but I’m not sure how long he will miss.

“Everyone else got through the game okay, but there are one or two minor niggles.”

The Verdict: Get to the winter break…

Celtic could do with the winter break coming as soon as possible, in all honesty. Postecoglou has had to deal with multiple injury problems all season at Parkhead, with Turnbull’s the latest. He’s been relied on heavily by Postecoglou and even filled in at centre-forward recently, with the likes of Furuhashi, Albian Ajeti and Giorgos Giakoumakis all out.

Celtic have actually made a request to the SPFL to bring forward the winter break to coincide with the three-week restriction on supporters attending games, and that would also give Postecoglou’s squad a much-needed breather and the chance to get some players back.

The Hoops have to face St. Mirren, St. Johnstone, Hibernian and Rangers before the scheduled winter break, and it seems as if they may have to do that without Turnbull, should the scan confirm the worst.

Ainda assim, o representante de Leo Silva pretende manter os vencimentos com valores atuais. O tema deve ser discutido pelas partes envolvidas antes que a renovação contratual seja estabelecida.

It’s on days like this that you are unsure about Bangladesh. Was the talking point the brave fightback from 98 for 6 or why they slipped into the hole in the first place? And, again, how did they lose out on a great chance to seize the game at 206 for 6? It’s the area where the new and the old Bangladesh are still co-habiting. While talking about the positives from the day, the congratulatory tone may mask a feeling of condescension. On the other hand, the criticism may well be unfair for a nation which is still in it first decade of Test cricket.To make it more clear, if it were India who batted the way Bangladesh did today, there wouldn’t have been any confusion in slamming them for their batting failures. But has Bangladesh’s cricket matured to that level? That one is still asking the question means it hasn’t, but you hope they aren’t far away.Shakib Al Hasan said something very interesting the other evening. “Losing hurts, but there is no use hanging on to it [emotion]. We want to keep improving and learning from our mistakes. What’s the talk?

The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell has revealed that Bologna winger Andreas Skov Olsen is not an unrealistic signing ahead of the January transfer window.

He wrote in his end-of-year review: “You get those names that never go away and Olsen is one. He falls into the category of ‘should be unrealistic but isn’t quite’. Plus, a Danish winger signing from Italy? I think I’ve heard that one before somewhere. He has terrific technique and dribbling ability and would fill that berth on the right wing by providing a different skill set to what is currently available.”

This comes after Italian outlet Il Resto del Carlino recently claimed that the Gers have made an enquiry over a potential deal for the forward.

Could solve one problem

Giovanni van Bronckhorst could solve a significant problem in his Rangers squad by signing the £5.85m-rated attacker next month.

The Dutchman does not have a clear first-choice option on the right wing, with a number of players vying for that spot in the team. Nobody has been able to make it their own on a consistent basis, with Scott Wright and Ianis Hagi on three goals and zero assists between them in the Premiership.

This suggests that the Gers could bolster their squad by bringing in a right-sided winger to start week in, week out. Olsen is predominantly a right-sided forward, although he can play anywhere across the front line, and has shown that he can score and set up goals.

He has scored six goals in 15 caps for Denmark and has racked up 46 goals and 14 assists in 100 starts as a right winger in his career at youth and senior club level. This suggests that he could come in at Ibrox and be a go-to starter if he is able to translate that form over to Scotland and regularly contribute at the top end of the pitch.

At the age of 22, he also has plenty of room left to improve and could be a signing for the future as well as the here-and-now. This means that Rangers could develop him further before making a profit in the future via a lucrative sale, making this potential deal a great future investment along with being an excellent signing in the shorter-term.

Crystal Palace have enjoyed a comfortable campaign so far after appointing Patrick Vieira in the summer.

The manager has made a number of new additions to the side that have made a great impact on their good form in the first half of the season, resulting in Palace currently sitting 11th in the Premier League table after finishing 14th for the last two seasons.

The London club have taken points from 13 of the 20 games they have played, with eight draws and five wins in the league, and we expect Vieira will be hoping to continue to climb the table in his first full season in charge of the Eagles, to secure the side’s first top-half finish since 2015 when they finished 10th.

One player who has stolen the show at Palace and has been drawing attention to himself through his outstanding performances is loan player, Conor Gallagher.

The 21-year-old has been fantastic this season after he joined Palace on a season-long loan from Chelsea in the summer, scoring six goals and bagging three assists.

He has found the net against Manchester City and Wolves, as well as scoring a brace against West Ham and Everton in the Premier League so far from his midfield position.

Eagles manager, Vieira, praised and reflected on the incredible progress of the young midfielder at Palace so far speaking after the 3-1 win over Everton where he scored a brace.

‘He wants to improve, he is really humble, is working hard and the challenge for him is to maintain that level to fulfil his expectation.

‘Today he was fantastic and I think when the team play at that level as well, it allows him and some of the players in the team to express themselves.”

Now, the French manager could have a problem on his hands as the January transfer window has opened and Gallagher’s position in the team may be compromised by a recall from Chelsea, due to ongoing issues with the attacking line at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are struggling to keep themselves in contention for the Premier League title this season, with Manchester City now ten points clear of Thomas Tuchel’s side.

The downfall in Chelsea’s title chase has come from four draws from their last five games, compared to Manchester City’s five wins from five, and some of the attacking players in the side have come under fire after failing to hit the ground running.

Last week, an interview with Romelu Lukaku surfaced where the £100m record-breaking Chelsea signing claimed he was “not happy” with the system Tuchel had deployed, but has since apologised.

With the issues at Chelsea mounting due to their disappointing results as of late, virus outbreaks, injuries and desperation to get back on track to continue to compete for the title this season, there is reason to believe they could look to their thriving loan player at Crystal Palace to save their campaign with his proven attacking threat in the second half of the season.

However, if the Blues take the frightening decision to bring him back to the Bridge this month, it could derail Palace’s own season. After all, he is their top scorer this term and joint-chief creator too.

Gallagher has not featured in the last two games for Vieira’s side, but assistant manager, Osian Roberts, has claimed that he is simply missing through an attempt to “keep the squad as fresh as possible”, Palace will take on Millwall away in the FA Cup third round on Saturday and it will be interesting to see if the youngster features.

Their main hero was the former national player, Doug Marillier, whose superb 74 blazed the trail that led to victory.Vipers began unimpressive after Eagles won the toss and fielded. Raymond van Schoor was dropped from a hard chance to slip off the first ball of the match, and in the second over Gerhard Rudolph (1) drove a simple catch into the covers. By the seventh over they were 24 for 3, looking a fraction of the team that overwhelmed Rocks in their first match.Here, however, the improvement began. Norbert Manyande, the former Zimbabwean, joined Dwaine Pretorius and the pair rescued the side through good running and judicious big hitting. Manyande reached his 50 off 39 balls and next ball holed out at long-on. Pretorius quickly followed, caught in the deep for 34, but Tobie Verwey clubbed a couple of boundaries to carry the total to 142 for six.Eagles also made an indifferent start, losing two wickets for 22 before Greg Lamb joined the opener Doug Marillier. They combined well to lift the score to 60 for 2 after 10 overs, before Lamb skied a catch to depart for 19. Marillier upped the rate with a mixture of orthodox and unconventional strokes. On 41 he swept a six over square leg, and reached his 50 with another effortless six over long leg. The first ball was a full toss and Mutizwa pulled it superbly for four, and followed it with a single the next ball to take his team home.Meanwhile, in a sterling contest that brought 379 runs, Mountaineers held on by the skin of their teeth to beat Southern Rocks by a single run. Their heroes were Hamilton Masakadza, who scored 102, and Tatenda Taibu, while Rocks produced superb batting from Chamu Chibhabha and Steve Tikolo.Mountaineers banked on getting the best from a tiring track by batting first after winning the toss. After Bernard Mlambo was yorked attempting a wild swish at Blessing Mahwire for 6, it was one-way traffic as Masakadza and Taibu massacred the hapless Rocks bowling.They were on the charge immediately, Masakadza unfurling two crisp strikes for six over long-on and long leg. The 50 came up after six overs and the 100 in 13 – after which they decided to step up the pace. Masakadza gave a hard chance to long-on when he had 80, but in the final over he reached 100 with a straight six and an edged four in successive balls from Anthony Ireland. Masakadza ended with 102 off only 56 balls, including six fours and six sixes. Taibu had done his part, with his unbeaten 71 containing five fours and a six and the second-wicket partnership adding 179.With Rocks facing an imposing total the Mountaineers’ bowlers were a little too confident and Chamu Chibhabha at least was going down, if he must, with all guns blazing. 39 runs came off the first three overs, mostly to Chibhabha, but with seven wides also helping total. The 50 came up in the sixth over for one wicket, making victory still a theoretical possibility. Chibhabha enjoyed a narrow escape, a hard chance on the leg boundary on 48, but reached 50 off 35 balls. Steve Tikolo joined in with some fine strokes, and the 100 came up in the 12th over.With 48 needed off the last five overs, an incredible Rocks victory seemed very possible. But Prosper Utseya struck the vital blow by bowling Chibhabha for 70. This proved the turning point, arresting the momentum at a crucial time. Tikolo was still there and by the last over 15 was needed to win. Tikolo cut the first ball for four, but was then run out in another mix-up. Nine was needed off the last two balls and new man Ian Harvey could only manage only a single off the penultimate ball. In a final act of defiance Alester Maregwede hit the last ball for six but it was not quite enough.

وجاء طلب ميكالي بعدما أكد محمد بركات له بأن ستاد القاهرة أخطر اتحاد الكرة بأنه سيكون جاهزًا في الاسبوع الأخير من شهر اكتوبر لاستقبال المباريات؛ ولذلك يُفضل مدرب المنتخب الأولمبي لعب المباراة عليه بسبب الخصوصية التاريخية التي يتمتع بها الملعب.

ومن المنتظر أن تقام مباراة الذهاب بين يومي 21-23 أكتوبر المقبل، على أن تٌلعب مواجهة الإياب بين يومي 28-30 من الشهر ذاته.
