For the second day running, Lancashire recovered from a difficult first session to take the upper hand, this time repelling Steve Kirby’s efforts to remind them forcibly of his local roots to establish a useful lead, much to the pleasure of another sizeable crowd, who turned out not just to enjoy the sunshine but to show their appreciation for Liverpool’s temporary status as the county’s headquarters.Around 1,300 spectators have turned out on each of the first two days, their presence lending an old-fashioned festive atmosphere to this pleasant tree-lined ground with its splendid Victorian pavilion.The club is equally renowned for producing a good cricket wicket and Kirby, born in Bury and a young player for Heywood, near Rochdale, clearly felt at home, his figures of 5 for 79 not really doing justice to how well he bowled, particularly in the morning and early afternoon, when he found the right length to allow the ball to swing away late and threatened to demolish Lancashire on his own, exacting revenge, perhaps, for being overlooked by them in his youth.It was down to him, certainly, that Lancashire lost their way a little after Paul Horton and Stephen Moore had put on 93 for the first wicket, making it appear that Somerset’s 268 might have been a good score after all.After Kirby had taken his first four wickets, Lancashire had a good deal of repair work to do at 169 for 5.But as Kirby tired and no one stepped up in an effective supporting role, a stand of 113 between Gareth Cross and Tom Smith for the sixth wicket swung the day back in Lancashire’s favour, with the Sri Lankan all-rounder Farveez Maharoof — inspired by the opportunity to take on his compatriot, Ajantha Mendis — chipping in with an unbeaten 49 on debut to stretch the home side’s lead to 93 at the close.Smith has needed to be versatile in recent seasons, when he has alternated between his present middle-order slot and opening. He made his career-best 128 against Hampshire at the Rose Bowl last July as Horton’s partner at the top of the order but looks more suited to coming in lower down, although the experience he had gained against the new ball probably helped him summon the patience required to dig Lancashire out of their hole.Solid and organised, he would have been aware that he would need to be the steadying influence in the rebuilding work, first with Gareth Cross, older but less experienced, and then with Maharoof, who arrived in the middle announcing — in Smith’s words — that he was going to “smoke Mendis”.Just as well, then, that Smith had set his focus on being a slow burner, batting for four and a quarter hours without offering a whiff of a chance until Marcus Trescothick, who had used five bowlers in support of Kirby with only limited success, decided to try Arul Suppiah’s left-arm spin.Smith had reached 89, his best score since that century last July, and clearly felt a fourth first-class hundred could be his when he found himself stretching to reach for a ball from Suppiah and edged to Trescothick at slip.After Horton, much earlier, had edged Charl Willoughby to first slip, the morning belonged to Kirby, bowling with brimming intent and as impressive as Saj Mahmood had been on day one.The 33-year-old, who has been on the fringes of the England team without really coming close to selection, is with his fourth county, having started his professional career with Leicestershire. His biggest success, winning a Championship medal with Yorkshire, is a decade ago now but he has moved from Gloucestershire to Somerset over the winter in the belief that he might enjoy a reprise.He looked like a match-winner yesterday, striking first to have Moore edging to gully to be out for 73, his best Championship score for Lancashire. It was the first of three wickets in 10 balls, followed up when Karl Brown edged to point and Steven Croft was caught behind. Figures of 6-1-19-3 reflected an impressive opening spell.Early in the afternoon, he made Mark Chilton his fourth victim, snaffled by Trescothick at second slip, and gave a leap and a punch of delight when he broke the Smith-Cross partnership in similar fashion, having the latter caught, again by Trescothick at second slip, just after the wicketkeeper had completed a bright half-century.But there was an element of frustration behind the celebration, too, with Lancashire already back on top.

وقال فيريرا في تصريحات للمؤتمر الصحفي عقب المباراة: “دونجا خضع لإجراء عملية جراحية، والتأهيل وكانت الناس متوقعة أنه سيلعب مباشرة، ولكن كل شئ يأتي بالوقت، وهو مازال لديه الكثير”.

وتابع: “نحن نلعب كل 3 أيام، وبالطبع من الصعب جدًا أن أثبت تشكيل وسط هذه الظروف”.

وعن وفاة بيليه قال: “بالنسبة لي بيليه أفضل لاعب في تاريخ كرة القدم ورأيته وهو يلعب، ولم أر أحدًا مثله، بيليه كان ظاهرة كلاعب”.

واختتم: “البرازيل كلها ستقف دقيقة حداد، وأي شخص يحب كرة القدم سيكون حزينًا على وفاة بيليه”.

Diego Aguirre voltou a dar chance a Diego Souza no domingo e avisa que o jogador é opção para o São Paulo como centroavante, exatamente na função em que foi convocado por Tite para a Seleção Brasileira. Nessa posição, no clube, quem ainda precisa evoluir é Brenner, na opinião do treinador.

O técnico propôs ao jogador de 18 anos, promovido do time sub-17 diretamente para o elenco principal, que atue pela equipe sub-20 do clube em algumas partidas. Brenner só foi utilizado uma vez em dez jogos com Aguirre e, na visão do treinador, evoluiria mais se retornasse à base.

– O Brenner é um menino, temos de cuidar dele. É como um filho para mim, e é um projeto muito bom do clube. Simplesmente, achamos que alguns têm de pegar ritmo de jogo. Quem não joga não cresce, não melhora. Se não compete, não tem o ritmo que queremos. Ele poderia ter alguns minutos e sequência no sub-20, para estar mais perto daqui e preparado para a Seleção – disse o técnico para a rádio Transamérica.

– Queremos cuidar, proteger e ajudar. Queremos o melhor para os meninos, especialmente. Com certeza, daqui um ou dois anos, será um centroavante espetacular. Mas precisa continuar nesse processo de amadurecimento – prosseguiu Aguirre.

Na próxima semana, Brenner já deixará de ficar à disposição de Aguirre para realizar um período de treinos com a Seleção Brasileira sub-20, visando o Sul-Americano da categoria, no ano que vem. Enquanto isso, quem pode ser mais escalado é Diego Souza, que há menos de duas semanas teve uma oferta do Vasco recusada pelo Tricolor, iniciando uma espécie de força-tarefa para ele mostrar que valeu a pena gastar R$ 10 milhões para tirá-lo do Sport em janeiro.

– O Brasil tem muitos centroavantes no mundo. Por queo Tite o levou de 9? Alguma coisa se vê que ele tem. Ele é 9. Foi uma grande contratação. Se esteve perto de sair ou não, não sei bem, mas o que passou, passou. Sempre trabalhou bem, e temos um relacionamento de muito respeito. Voltou a ter chance, está bem e brigando por um lugar como todos – falou o treinador, indicando que não deve usar Diego Souza chegando do meio.

– Ele tem de se adaptar à necessidade do time, aos jogadores que tenho. Se joga mais para trás, não joga Nenê ou Cueva. Sei que ele jogava mais para trás, mas, agora, precisamos de um 9. O São Paulo o comprou como centroavante, Tite o levou como centroavante. Não há discussão. Ele vai fazer gol, porque finaliza de forma espetacular e é bom mesmo dentro da área.

– Foi uma situação tática. Estávamos sendo superados pelos lados e tentamos fazer uma mudança para termos o controle. A ideia era ter um jogo de resposta, com a velocidade de Marcos Guilherme. Queríamos o gol para matar o jogo. São situações que sempre fazemos as mudanças buscando o melhor para o time. Tomamos os gols e ficamos um pouco desorientados. Mas fomos buscar e conseguimos o empate. Foi um jogo um pouco estranho, mas com situações de gol – disse Aguirre.

Na próxima quarta (9), às 21h45, o São Paulo recebe o Rosario Central, da Argentina, pelo jogo de volta da primeira fase da Copa Sul-Americana. The happily-ever-after ending that Kings XI Punjab were expecting for their campaign slipped through their fingers, literally, in Dharamsala. Their rise from the dead has been the story of the IPL, but they crumbled in the field in a must-win game and were eliminated from the race for the play-offs.Dropped catches galore, spiced up with misfields and missed run-outs, allowed Deccan Chargers’ openers, Shikhar Dhawan and D Ravi Teja, to deliver just the kind of a partnership that would lift the spirits of a struggling team in its final game. While Amit Mishra did his bit with a hat-trick, it was their stand that put the task beyond Punjab’s batsmen. The result meant Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders qualified for the play-offs.The first over set the tone for the day. There was encouragement for Praveen Kumar from the track, with the ball moving both ways, but there wasn’t much the bowlers could do when not backed up by their fielders. Ryan McLaren missed an attempt to run out Dhawan first ball and Ravi Teja was dropped by Paul Valthaty in the deep moments later. Both chances were difficult, yet manageable, and proved decisive in the outcome.The opening bowlers, Praveen and Ryan Harris, erred in line, particularly against Dhawan, who played through square leg and fine leg for boundaries. While Dhawan looked determined to bat through, it was Ravi Teja’s responsibility to maintain the high tempo. Dhawan focussed on the gaps, timing and power enabling him to pierce them with ease, while Ravi Teja went over the top, accomplishing the task he was sent out for, albeit with much fortune.Streaky as he was, Ravi Teja sent Punjab’s frustration levels soaring. He survived a run-out in the 11th over – umpire Asad Rauf didn’t call for a replay – and edged the next two balls from McLaren to the third-man boundary. He was dropped by Harris in the next over, and then launched Piyush Chawla for two massive sixes in another over that yielded 20 runs. By the time he was finally caught, he had smashed 60 when he should have been dismissed for a duck.Having fed on tripe bowled on the pads, Dhawan drove Harris twice for boundaries through the off side, then ceded the floor to Ravi Teja, before taking the lead once again following his dismissal. His intentions were clear right after the second time-out, as he slog-swept Chawla and Bhargav Bhatt. He scarred Harris in his return spell with consecutive fours, including one that almost decapitated the man at the non-striker’s end, Cameron White. Dhawan’s first six was over cow-corner, and he was unfortunate to miss out on three figures, not being able to farm much of the strike at the end of the innings.Punjab had changed their strategy in this game, opting to chase, leaving some a little surprised since Adam Gilchrist had scored a blistering ton at the same venue after batting first in their previous game. The pressure of a big target, despite the friendly surface and the small boundaries, was too difficult a challenge. Valthaty perished in the second over, Shaun Marsh smashed JP Duminy for successive boundaries but was caught on the third attempt, edging to short third man. Gilchrist stood in the way and there was hope when he launched Anand Rajan over extra cover and slog-swept Pragyan Ojha into the stands.Unlike Punjab, though, Deccan caught well and when Gilchrist drove Daniel Christian straight to White in the 11th over, the game was decided. Mishra got into the act: his first wicket, that of McLaren, was a product of an excellent diving catch by Christian in the deep. Mandeep Singh swung and missed to be stumped off the next ball, and Harris edged a googly straight to second slip to complete the hat-trick. The element of suspense Punjab brought to a mostly predictable tournament was over.

A delegação viaja para Lucas do Rio Verde, cidade que a abriga o estádio Passo das Emas, palco da partida, na manhã desta quarta. No dia do jogo, a máxima prevista na cidade é de 31 graus. O calor, segundo Jean, pode atrapalhar.

– Em Santos faz calor, mas não tanto. Mas o calor vai ser para os dois. Temos de estar totalmente focados na partida – completou.

تحدث أمير مرتضى منصور المشرف العام على قطاع الكرة بنادي الزمالك عن عقد الرعاية الجديد مع شركة النيل للتطوير العقاري.

وقال أمير في تصريحات بالمؤتمر الصحفي المنعقد الآن: “أشكر مرتضى منصور وكباتن نادي الزمالك على مدار التاريخ، وأشكر الشركة المتحدة وشركة بريزنتيشن وشركه النيل”.

وأضاف: “بمناسبة الشراكة، كان الزمالك في الوقت السابق مظلومًا في الرعاية، ولكن مع مرتضى منصور منذ 2014 مع شركة بريزنتيشن تغيرت الأمور وأصبحت أفضل وأرقام متميزة”.
